HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I wondered awhile what kind of treat would be good for a 9-month-old. Aha! Gummy Bears! Well, a stuffed one, anyway. :-) Here it is.
And here's my favorite little Halloween Bunny checking it out:

"Am I supposed to eat this thing?"
But then Grandma supplied some animal crackers to go with it, and Bunny was very happy (because the box rattled really great).
"What more could I ask for?"
("Well, maybe to get these hot ol' ears off!")

'Nuther bird

Recently I looked out my kitchen window and was surprised to see this young red-tailed hawk perched on my clothesline pole! (I'm sorry the picture isn't clearer, but considering it was taken from around 30 feet away and through a screen, I guess it's not too bad.)

Oh, so pretty!

Remember these geraniums from that rainy day a couple weeks ago? Well, they're even happier now with the sunshine, and I couldn't resist taking some more pics of them!
These that have a mixture of petal types fascinate me!

Tonight

Ah, such a beautiful evening... so calm and quiet. The moon was lovely rising up behind Nate's bin.
And at the same time, off to the west was a peaceful sunset.

Courtney strikes again! (Today)

"Look, Grandma... we're both sooooo big!"

"I wonder what I can get into next!"

"If I could just find Grandma's favorite..."

Hummingbirds

I love hummingbirds! They are so fascinating, and I could sit and watch them all day. I started feeding them on our deck three summers ago, and I've had fun taking photos. They get used to a person fairly quickly, and when they're really hungry, I'm able to take pics from only a few feet away. Below are a few of my favorites, all ruby-throated, the only kind we have around here.

This female hummer was on a sedum bush in my flower garden.

My crazy cats

One day, when my cats were younger and more ambitious (thank goodness they've calmed down), they were down in the basement by themselves a little too long. I glanced down the stairs, and what I saw caused me to grab the camera. No more words needed. ;-)

"I'm innocent."

" Willow made me do it."

"Let's do this again tomorrow!"
