Have you ever heard of "splash", when it relates to photos? It's where you turn a color photo into black and white, then color back just certain parts of it. Thanks to Instagram, I've kinda gotten addicted to making splashes (play on words intended). I have an app that I do it with on my iPad, and I find it fun and relaxing. Here are the ones I've done so far.
The smaller the image, the harder it is to do, of course. This one below was pretty tricky.
So was this one.
Whaddya think? Cool? Fun? Interesting? Or are the original full-color photos more to your liking?

Definitely interesting, but I almost always like full color versions best.
I love them! They are different and beautiful!
Same here, Jess.
Thanks, Gail! Gee, I know a local Gail R. Are you her? :)
Very cool and interesting!!
Thank you, Annie Dee!
I think I mostly like the full color ones best, too. That being said, the monarch picture is pretty great.
Thanks, Blue! :)
The monarch ones were my favorite too. :)
Thanks, Geneviève!
Well! I never knew how people did that, so this was a fun eye-opener for me. Thank you for sharing! Not sure if I necessarily like one version MORE than the other, though. Can't we have both? As in, both the full-color and the splash versions? Although if you ever took pics of caterpillars, you can make those ALL BnW. Or ALL black. So we don't have to see the caterpillars at all. Hahahahaha!
Yes, we can absolutely have both versions! :) Hey, thanks for giving me an idea for my next splash. All black is not considered a splash, though. ;)
I love the solo monarch butterfly! Incredible detail.....
Kristin
Thanks, Kristin! :)
