More tree sightings

Remember this winter view from last week?

Yesterday I had a different view of black objects in a nearby tree:

Did you notice them both? I like how the bottom one shows up so contrastingly black! I stepped out the door and got some shots from a little bit closer:

I guess they were enjoying the nice, spring-like day!

Later, on the deck... Rusty and the bottom tree-dweller (Miss Black):

Scoot and two more blacks (Mr. Black [the upper tree-dweller] and little Hissy Sissy [who is now known only as Sissy because she doesn't hiss at us anymore]):

If only it were spring to stay. Word from the National Weather Service, though, says it's going to get down to about 12°F BELOW ZERO Sunday night! The cats will have to be snuggling together then instead of climbing trees!

So maybe they are tree dwellers when the leaves hang around? You would never know. Kind of fun to see them climb in the trees!

Stay warm. It is too be colder than typical for this region as well. I'm wearing my "January sweaters" and put extra blankets on the beds.

Crazy (but beautiful!) cats.
I would have been laughing at them up in the bare winter tree.

High five on getting a DSLR!!!
Consider buying (like $15)a cheap 10x magnifier lens to screw onto whatever lens comes with your camera. I used one for a long time and got really good macro snow shots with it.

Thanks for the lens tip, Jill. I'll need all the tips I can get! :)

I love the cats in the trees.
They have to be very competent climbers to go so high at this time of the year.

Aren't cats always competent climbers? ;)
