This is my latest sewing project, just finished yesterday. Every doll needs something to sleep in, right? I know Courtney puts her American Girl doll, Marie Grace, to bed every night, so it's about time she has something proper to wear when she goes to bed! Well, here it is:
Courtney helped pick out the flannel herself, from my stash of scraps (so it's okay if she sees the picture, Mommy - she'll get it tomorrow). If it looks familiar to you, you probably saw it on this post. Here's the picture from that post (with a little better photo editing):
That's why Courtney chose it, because it matches Beth's. :)
The nightgown was made from a pattern (Samantha's Pretty Clothes) I found here. That site has a number of patterns for older AG dolls that are no longer made, so the patterns are now offered for FREE. Hurray! They're pretty big downloads, but there are numerous outfits in each pattern set. You'll be seeing more outfits I make from them, I'm sure!
Incidentally, when I was trying to track down the site I'd gotten those patterns from, I came across a USED pattern (Samantha's) for sale on eBay. It was available to "Buy It Now"... for $35.00!! I like free much better! :)
