Say CHEEEEEESE!

String cheese, that is.

She had a fun weekend with Auntie Jess and Uncle Alex.

Last night

We had our first ripe cantaloupe of the season for supper last night... it was soooo good! I'm sorry, Jess 'n Alex, that it wasn't ripe when you were here. The heat of Sunday and Monday really spurred along the ripening process. You just should've stayed a couple more days! But look at that nice ORANGE color, will ya? :-)

More ORANGE... this was our sunset from last night. (Click to view larger.)

And from the other direction.

The heat from the weekend (upper 80's Sun. & Mon.) sure disappeared. It only made it into the mid-60's yesterday, and was mid-40's overnight. Brrrr! I hope there's still a little summer left, or at least a mild fall. I'm sure not ready for winter yet!!

On another note... yes, I took tons of pics over the weekend. Like 140+ ! And some more of Courtney yesterday. I just need to do some weeding and sorting yet, and get them organized to put on here. So stay tuned... they'll be here in the next few days! ;-)

Fawn update?

I went out to pick tomatoes on Sunday, and look what I found!

I tried to blame it on our son-in-law, but he had proof that it wasn't him. His mouth isn't that narrow. (Boy, did he luck out!) ;-)

Also considering that there were dainty little hoof prints by the tomato plant, I'm guessing it was my fawn back for a visit. Anyway, I'll choose again to believe that he/she is alive and well. Now if only he/she would stay out of my garden!

However, these were left untouched (and many more that are ripening fast now)! Aren't they beautiful? I think they're the nicest tomatoes I've ever raised!

So huge! YUM!!

Poll Results

The results of the poll "Will you be doing any traveling over the Labor Day weekend?" are as follows:

  • Yes (2 votes)
  • No (5 votes)

I wonder if gas prices had anything to do with those results.

We didn't do any traveling ourselves, but we had travelers (at least one of those 'yes' votes, I bet) here. It was a fun weekend. I hope yours was good, too!

Thanks for voting!

A mother's work is never done!

And sometimes there's so much picking up to do that she can hardly see where she's going! ;-)

But it's all so worth it!!!

And somehow she still manages to find time for a bit of modeling.
