(Sorry about the photo overload. But I don't want to drag this out. Even if I broke it down into several posts, it'd still amount to the same page-loading time overall.)

My kitchen windows (north side of house) yesterday... totally iced over:

So heavy, in fact, that this big branch fell to the ground. I'm not sure if it's a top, or where it came from.

Look how thick the ice is/was on our mailbox! (Yes, it desperately needs a paint job.) I wonder what our mail carrier used to knock the ice off of every mailbox she came to. It must've been slow going yesterday, but at least she made it through!

..... because it's all covered with 8-10 inches of wet, heavy, "heart attack" snow! Only two pics of that. I just couldn't take any more.

Had enough? Yeah, me, too. At least our power remains on, although it flickers often and has been out for a few seconds several times.

No Courtney here today. She doesn't have school, but she went to her other grandparents' last night, because there was no power (and still remains so) at her house. We had lots of fun yesterday (and the day before), so soon (hopefully) I will show you some of what we did. Trust me, it'll be more COLORFUL than this post!

In case I disappear....

.... this is what we're dealing with around here. I took these photos about an hour ago. Everything's coated in a heavy layer of ice. Lots of tree branches are down. There are many, many power outages across the area. So far, ours here has only been out twice, for a few brief minutes each time. But be forewarned that if my blog posts stop for a while, it's due to either no power or no internet. Our internet was out for 12 hours or so, but came back on mid-afternoon.

Courtney had no school today, so she spent the day with me. She also spent most of yesterday here, too, after they closed school at 10:00 a.m.

School is already 2 hours late for tomorrow. But with the 7 inches of snow in the (winter storm warning) forecast for overnight, with a couple more or so for tomorrow, no doubt school will be cancelled. If Mommy makes it to work tomorrow (which is very doubtful), Courtney may be here again. We've been having fun, despite the return to winter.

(Actually, as I'm getting this ready to post, the snow seems to have pretty much stopped. I think the storm is fizzling out. Well, it was "fun" while it lasted. ;-) )

We're getting HUGE snowflakes right now... so big they 'crash' when they hit the cement! Here's the latest video.



Actually, looking at the radar, I think the worst is over, but the warning remains in effect.

It's beginning to look a lot like...

...well... WINTER, if not Christmas! We're under a WINTER STORM WARNING now. I don't know how well you can see the snow on this little video, but I assure you, it's coming down. It's already building a drift in front of the garage (of course).
