Panorama puddle play

It rained all day Saturday. The areas of water standing in our front yard kept growing and growing. I could no longer capture either whole "lake" in one camera shot... from the windows, that is, and I wasn't about to go out in the cold rain with my camera. So I decided to play with my panorama program again.

This first picture was actually taken with four shots, then I used the program on my computer to blend them together. It turned out very well, except for the slight bending of the deck railing, which couldn't be helped.

These pics don't really look like much until you enlarge them, though. Click on them to get the full view! That's a lot of water!

This second pic was made from 3 shots:

The water in the pic just above was up onto the driveway and seeping over it a bit by the end of the day. That's a first! Speaking of firsts, though, I also saw my first robin of the year late that afternoon!

By yesterday morning the water was all frozen, and it remains so today. It's cold again! Poor robin.

Another panorama

My moss roses were looking exceptionally full and pretty a few mornings ago, so I decided to see if I could make a good panorama of the whole bed, since it's too long to get a decent full shot with my camera. I think it turned out rather nice! (Click on it to see it much larger.)

Here are some closer shots for your viewing pleasure.

I just love all the beautiful colors!

That's a lot of mares!

Last Friday was a stupendous day, weather-wise! As I drove home from town, I couldn't help noticing the lovely sky with all its mare's tail clouds. I don't think I've ever seen so many "tails" at one time before. I of course had to grab the camera as soon as I got home. Here's the sky as it looked from right to left. (Click any photo to enlarge.)

Those mares must've been having a lot of fun, frisking about!

I took the pics with the intention of putting them together in a panorama, so I tried to keep the camera at the same level for each one. Apparently I didn't do so well. :)  But here's the panorama as it went together. At least the program did a nice job of blending them! Be sure to click on this one to enlarge it!

I couldn't resist

I know. I should be doing other things. A bzillion other things.

But the sunset was so pretty again last night, and I just wanted to experiment with making a panorama of it. I didn't waste much time. I quick snapped 5 pics, trying to get them at the same level and right next to each other. No editing... I just stuck them together. I think it turned out pretty good!

Click the picture to enlarge it. Be sure to click the magnifier to see it full size, then depending on the size of your monitor, you'll probably have to scroll sideways to see it all.

Whaddya think???
