Happy Easter!

Yes, those are the correct photos. I took them this morning. I think Mother Nature got a little confused as to which holiday it is. She must've been thinking Christmas... or April Fool's Day? ;-Þ

I did catch a shot of the Easter Bunny, too, after he finished making his rounds. He was very hungry after all that work, but he had to work some more to dig his breakfast out from under all the snow, poor thing.

The robins and all the rest of the birds have been having a hard time finding food, too.

"I think I hear a worm!"

"I know he's down there somewhere."

"Aw, shucks. I guess he was too cold to come up."

Enough already! At least it's melting, and it should go pretty fast in the next few days. The robins have had their tails snowed on three times now. Is this the end of it? Not according to the forecast. :(

Have a nice Easter, wherever you are! We have so much to be thankful for, including the reason for the holiday!

Unpredictability

Hi again. Sorry for the unpredicted absence. Life's like that sometimes, isn't it? Quite unpredictable. That's what this week's been like... unpredicted craziness. Those of you regular readers that I know personally know what it's about, and I'll leave it at that.

Now I'm catching up on some things. I'll have some fun photos coming soon (after I take them - ha). But for now I'll just show you what Courtney and I worked on for our craft project on Monday. Yes, Monday instead of Tuesday. That was part of the unpredicted.

We found a fun printable. Part of it was a big egg shape, which we printed on cardstock and Courtney decorated. The other part was Disney characters and fun shapes which we printed on regular paper, colored, cut out and she glued to the egg for decorations. Here she is, just finishing up with the glue stick (which was when I remembered to grab the camera).

And this is how it turned out. With her signature 'eye', of course. ;)

Betcha can't even tell which ones she colored and which ones I did. She does a great job!

You can find this project and some other fun Easter coloring pages here.

Another fabric basket

The fabric basket I made before was so fun that I decided to make another one (from the tutorial found here). This time I made the smaller size basket, and I used a quilt weight fabric for it.

I thought the combination looked rather "springy".

This basket is quite a bit smaller than my first one. It measures 5½" x 3½" x almost 4" high. Here's a little size comparison:

And here it is next to my original basket:

The little one is Courtney's Easter gift. Of course I had to stuff it with a little goodie. I'll show you that another day!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter celebration tomorrow! And do remember that the real celebration is not about bunnies and eggs, but rather the resurrection of our Lord and Savior!

"Peeps"!

This is what I made for Courtney for Easter... marshmallow bunny "peeps":

Okay, so they're actually 'plushies'. And they contain no marshmallow. :) They're made of fleece and stuffed with polyester. I found this cute pattern and tutorial here, and I just couldn't resist making some. They were very easy and so fun to make. Thanks, Amanda!

They're pretty big... about 8" tall... almost didn't fit in my basket! :)

I did manage to squeeze in a little chocolate, too, though... and that basket was all set!

It was love at first sight! She was VERY thrilled with them! Which of course made ME happy, too! :)

New life

Spring is here. AAANNDD... the SUN is shining!!

This next one's better enlarged... click on it to see the tiny dew (melted frost?) drops!

It was a lovely sight to see the cats out sunning themselves early this morning. I'm sure they were delighted with the sunshine, too!

Lots of new life in that photo, as all three of the calicos are expecting kittens before long. Poor Mama (lower left) looks a bit uncomfortable, doesn't she? Courtney and I will have our work cut out for us, finding, taming and naming all those babies. ;)

The best new life of all, though, is what we celebrate today... New Life in Jesus! Wishing a blessed Easter to you all!

Update: (Monday morning) Mama kitty had her babies overnight! Of course I have no idea how many or where.

And we have SUNSHINE again! That makes TWO days in a row! WOOHOO!! :) (We won't even think about the forecast for tonight and tomorrow.)

Here we are

Well, I had a tough time getting a pic of her dress, because she hunted up a "baby" right after I got there, and she wasn't about to put her down. ;-) And she was so tired after we ate, that she actually asked to go night-night, so no photos of the dress then, either. But I did manage to get some cute shots, anyway.

I don't know what was so funny here...

But it musta been a good one!

She looks just like her daddy, doesn't she? Well, that's debatable... ;-)

Here's how tired she was.

But at least you can see more of the dress (which turned out to not be quite 'new' - thanks for sharing, Jenna and Jaime!). ;-)

Happy Easter!

I hope you all have a beautiful, special day. Hopefully I can get some good photos of a certain little girl in her new Easter dress. Do check back later and see if I did! :-)

Happy Easter!

HE IS RISEN!

(Unfortunately, the above photo was not taken this morning. I wish we'd had that much sunshine today, but we had more little white thingies than we did sunshine.)

I hope all of you have a beautiful Easter, celebrating with family and/or friends. And I hope the reason we celebrate Easter... the resurrection of our Lord... touches each of your hearts with special meaning.

On a little more secular/traditional note... you know, the Easter bunnies and chickies thing... I have to show you what I made for Courtney for Easter. In my blog reading, I happened to come across a pattern for making a stuffed bunny. I still had some pieces left of the Modern Flora fabric Jess designed (see it here), so I decided to use some of each piece to make "Flora". Here's how she turned out.

Go ahead... you can laugh. Jess thought it was hilarious! :-)))

An evening update:

"Such lovely fabrics!"
