Drive-by shooting

This is the beginning of my Chicago trip photos. Normally when we go there this time of year, it's a very dreary drive, with everything still winter-brown. This year, what with the record-warm temperatures we've had, everything was amazingly green! I couldn't resist grabbing the camera for some "drive-by shots" (term stolen from my CA friend, Mark) of all the greenness. These are from the La Crosse, Wisconsin area, which was the prettiest of all, with the hills and bluffs. Where other years we've seen ice "falls" where the water has frozen on its way out from the rocks, this year there was nothing but green.

Click on any photo to enlarge.... and enjoy!

(No, not smoke in the trees above... just a dirty windshield.)

That is one, very long drive! I love the Winona/La Crosse area. My heart is happy whenever we happen to drive that way.
