Carrot harvest

I harvested my carrots a few days ago... all four of them. Okay, so I ate the fifth one weeks ago. I don't know what happened to the rest. Anyway, here are my carrots, next to a gallon bucket.

Yeah, they were BIG! See how those three fit in the bucket?

This strange creature had 13 legs! And numerous tops. I don't know why. The others had several tops, too.

I couldn't even fit that crazy monster in my 5-gallon storage bucket, so I had to break all the legs off and put them in the fridge. Here's the top minus its legs.

Have you ever grown a carrot like that?!

Never grew carrots. These are great! Is carrot cake next? I wonder if carrots grow in So Fla?

I've never made a carrot cake, although I've eaten them. These will be eaten raw or cooked as a side dish. I've made a carrot souffle, though, which is pretty yummy... maybe I should try that again.

I have no idea about growing carrots in So Fla!

Maybe the fawns ate the other the carrots? 😝

I did, Kristin! And they were seeds from the same packet I used last year, which produced normal carrots.

'Something' may certainly have eaten some of them. Some just plain didn't come up. The fawns are probably the reason they had so many tops, because they had to start growing over again every time the top got eaten off.

That is the strangest-lookin' thing I've ever seen! Did they all grow together the way my cookies do in the oven when I forget to leave enough space between them on the tray?

Ha! No, I'm quite sure it was one carrot plant! :)
