Oh, Josie...

I think Josie feels a little left out when Courtney's here. Rightly so, I suppose, since my attention is (also rightly so) more on Courtney at those times. Whenever Courtney does anything at the table, Josie insists on being up there, too... as close as we'll let her be.

These pics were taken the day we did the dolly photo shoot... before we had even headed to the basement for the shoot and leaving her upstairs.

Look at Josie's face... so sleepy-bored looking. Yet, she MUST be there!

And she MUST be touching what Courtney's working on.

Even distracted, that paw stays there.

Poor neglected kitty.  Ha!

They like it... and I like them

I've moved my gerbera daisies to the window of my sewing room for the winter. Even though it's a cool spot, it's a south window, so they get full sunshine. They're thriving so far.

During the summer outside, they seemed to take turns blooming. But now they're even both blooming at once.

The coolness makes the flowers last longer. Lovely!

Since I took these photos, the stems on the red ones have gotten taller, too, so they look almost as nice as the yellow ones. I hope I can keep them going through the winter!

Ooohh, look!

This is a first for my birdbath... or at least that I've seen, anyway! I see bluejays often in the evergreen trees behind our house, but they're always so elusive that I can never get a good photo of them. They hop around so much, in and out of the trees, and if I get near the window with the camera, they're gone. So I was VERY surprised to see them at the birdbath on Saturday. I stealthily moved to grab the camera, and then I shot these pics from the middle of the kitchen, which is probably about 25 feet away. Not too bad for a too-low light situation and through dirty windows, huh? I'm considering myself extremely lucky. :)

They even bathed in that icy-cold water! I'm not sure it was even completely thawed out yet.

They aren't exactly the nicest of birds, but aren't they pretty?

They sure made the water fly!

I hope they come back.

Vintage doll clothes, part 5

This is the final vintage doll clothes post. Gosh, this dolly almost had more clothes than Jess did back then!

Now I should do some more 'current' sewing to show you. I have NO projects in the works. How sad is that? But I have a free weekend coming up (as in no cooking, mainly - hurray!), so I'd better figure out something quickly!

Halloween goodies

My little nurse came trick-or-treating last night, of course. She came complete with a real stethoscope and her pockets full of other medical "equipment" (the toy versions). The first thing she did was give me a shot! I guess that was her "trick". ;)

I did have a treat for her, despite the shot. I'd made another nurse apron!

This one was very tiny.

Courtney loved it. "This is better than candy." Ahhh... the perfect compliment! :)

She got plenty of the candy, too, of course (besides the few pieces of candy corn that I managed to fit into the pockets of the teeny nurse apron).

She proceeded to sort it all out. Then she shared nearly half of it with Grandpa and me! How generous she was! (And how happy Mommy was - heheh!)

The little zipper pouch above is what I'd made to put the little apron in. I finished it about 5 minutes before she arrived. I'd had another idea earlier, but it didn't work like I'd planned. Jess had posted some little Halloween printables on her blog yesterday, so I printed one, intending to put the apron it it. Alas, it was too small. But it was cute, and I gave it to Courtney, too. Here's the "monster kitty".

The head... er... mask, I guess... comes off. The little "box kitty" is only about an inch and a half across or so, and it wasn't nearly tall enough for the apron. Yes, very tiny!
