For Mark

The poor fellow's stuck out in California and desperately missing Minnesota. Oh, how I wish I could send him some of this weather we've been having the last few days! At least it decorates the windows nicely. :-)

Thanks. Never been the subject of a blog! Remember, "you can take the boy out of Minnesota but you can't take Minnesota out of the boy." When you live in a four-season state, you forget the beauty of each season. The frost art is spectacular and each square inch is different, and different every day.

In California people say, "Let's go to the snow" but it is not the same. Yesterday I was driving across town and there were two people waiting for the bus with their parka hoods up with a scarf wrapped around their mouth and nose plus they had Uggs on. You would have thought it was 20 degrees below zero. I looked at my outside temperature gauge and it was 48 degrees. Go figure! That is why I tell people what it means to be Minnesota tuff.

Thanks, Mark, for reminding me to appreciate my state, albeit a very frozen one. I definitely wouldn't trade places with you.

Your story reminds me of one winter many years ago when we lived in Nashville. We got a rare snowfall of a few inches. Hubby and I loved it, and we went out for a walk to enjoy it... while the natives were putting the chains on their tires.

I really like the one that reminds me of sea gulls in flight.

I attempt to share the midwest weather with (Uncle) Mark as well. Not only does the Midwest have fantastic winters, we can also enjoy a good thunderstorm. I try to call him during the big storms so he can hear thunder through the phone!

We sure do take our 4 seasons for granted!

Oh, the poor guy doesn't get to hear thunder out there, either? How sad! ;-) Welcome, Becky! Thanks for posting!

Seagulls, huh Dale? Yeah, kinda sorta.
