Pattern testing projects, Part 2

To whom it may concern: Please do not let Courtney see these posts! We wouldn't want her surprise to be ruined! ;)

As I said yesterday, I'll be posting a different Fairytale Doll Pattern project each day this week. Here's today's project, a mermaid!

Actually, it's the same doll as yesterday, but she's wearing a mermaid tail and a reversible bra.

This is the last outfit I made, but because it was still on the doll when I went to take pics of her, it got photographed, too. I still have to take pics of the rest of the items today. Anyway, it was the easiest of the outfits to make. It went together very quickly. And thanks to LiEr, I had fish-scale fabric to make it out of. I think it's sooo cute! Can't you just imagine her swimming around in the sea?

So cute! This doll just graduated to the have to do pile! Can't wait to see more. Thanks.

If the bra were purple she'd be a dead ringer for Ariel!

Yes, Annie Dee... Must.Make!

Rachel... I never gave any of 'those' mermaids a thought. I'm not too up on my mermaids, actually. :) But yes, one side of the bra should've been purple! Hmm... I could easily make another bra.....

Lovely! This (the mermaid suit) is probably the girls' favorite fantasy outfit. I like how the doll feels like a fish when you hold her with her tail on - all floppy in that typical fishy way. And here is a funny story: after I'd cut out all those tails for E's birthday party, I suddenly panicked, wondering if I'd remembered to check that the scales were pointing the correct way. Fortunately I had cut them the right way. Phew. But these unidirectional fabrics give me major stress!

Has anyone invented a reversible bra for humans? That's a good idea...

And it's been done.

Ah, LiEr... I had to look at yours to make sure I had mine going the right way! :)

Thanks, Jess... I'm so glad we know that now! :)))
