So white

It was an awfully white world yesterday morning. It was very foggy, and the trees were covered in hoar frost once again, so along with the 4 inches of new snow we got Thursday night, everything was white, white, and more white.

I didn't realize there could be so many different types of frost formations. These new ones were kind of globby... like popcorn with teeny spikes.

These were a little harder to photograph, probably mostly because of the lighting. Too much fog still in the air.

The fog hung around all day long. It did leave for a while last night, as I couldn't see any when I went to bed, but it was back again this morning when I got up. When I went out to feed the cats, I noticed the frost looked a bit different again. I considered going back for the camera, but decided I have better things to do with my time today. Use your imagination: onto slightly enlarged popcorn globs, lengthen the teeny spikes a wee bit, blunt their ends, and then give them some itsy-bitsy popcorn globs of their own, keeping the whole spike to about a quarter-inch long. Now you know what they look like. ;)

I've had enough white now. Blue sky is so much better!

Yep, and it changes day by day! I'm ready for something a little more colorful now, though.

Note that I updated the post this morning after being outside.

... And all we get is sun 320 days of the year. Miss the variety of weather immensely. Once again great hoar frost pictures. Mark

P.S. but the sun is great on or solar panels, have not paid 1 cent for electricity in 5 years so I can't complain too hard.

Soooo white over here too. The snow fell horizontally/diagonally for most of the morning. We are predicted 3-6 inches, I believe we already have 2-3. If it snows all night, then perhaps more? I came home from work with 4 boys throwing snowballs at each other and laughing. They continued to play and then ran off to one of the other boy's house to play in the snow fort. My lil' miss then complained because she wanted to play with the boys. Now she is building her own penalty box. We have not had snowball or packing snow like this for a long time! The serene white yard, not so much. Footsteps and crushed snowballs all over the place!

All white is all right with us!

Your hoar frosted world is so different, and your photos are wonderful! The blue sky will come... Wonder what eye catching photo op you will share then?

Thanks, Jill! Ooohh... I do already have a somewhat cool photo with a blue sky background from a few days ago. I had to do a "project" to turn in for my camera class. It'll show up here soon! ;)
