Happy birds

Sunday was SUCH a lovely day... sunny, 62° and no wind! All that new snow has melted and a lot more of the old, dirty stuff, too - hurray! The birds are much happier now!

Listening, listening, listening......

I saw one pull something out of the ground on Sunday, but I'm not sure if it was a worm or not.

The blackbirds were singing from the treetops and doing their wingspread thing, too.

Earlier I'd shot these blackbirds from the bathroom window. This one is somewhat shaded by an evergreen tree, but his pretty blueish head still shows up. That beak is kind of mean-looking.

Out in the sunshine, they are so glossy!

This old oriole nest caught my eye, too. It seems to have survived all of last winter's strong winds very much intact.

Soon the birds will be nesting again. More photo opportunities. :)

Thanks! I most definitely will!

The new computer arrived yesterday, too. I have so much work to do on it! So I may be absent for a while. But I'll hurry... just for you! :)

We have had a frequent guest at our bird feeder. A red-bellied woodpecker has visited our feeder the last few days, and diving into a hole in our tree. Very pretty.

Fun, Becky! Much better than a messy hawk! ;) Maybe it has a nest in your tree and you'll have baby ones, too!

Thanks, Bonnie! New kitten pics in a couple weeks... if I can find the babies! Oh, wait... I took some yesterday of somebody else's new kittens that I can show you... after I get my camera software, etc., set up. I'm gettin' there with stuff on this new PC, but it's a slow process, and my head is spinning! :) And so many things are aggravatingly different... so much to learn. Bah. ;)

Yes, we believe we have a nest in our tree. We have seen one woodpecker go inside a hole in our tree. Standing on our front porch looking at our tree through binoculars is quite a sight if you are a passerby, but we spend some time doing that often. The other morning the was quite the raucous with 2 red-bellied woodpeckers and a handful of other birds flying around and being nosy birds. I also saw a woodpecker pecking at a tree across the street. I think we will see them for awhile!
