Hazy skies

You've probably heard of the Canadian wildfires that are creating hazy skies for so many people. We're experiencing them, too, here in southern Minnesota. I took pictures of the sun Monday evening as it was heading toward the horizon. This first one was taken with my iPad, but it gave it somewhat of a surreal look.

The pics below are more realistic, taken with my DSLR.

Earlier in the day, everything outdoors seemed to have a yellow cast to it. In spots where the sun hit amongst the shadows, things almost seemed to glow. See the branch in the center of the photo below (click to enlarge). It really stood out... eye-catching and just a bit weird.

Let's hope it won't last for too long!

It was improved today, although it was also cloudy so kind of hard to tell.
