The party!

Courtney had her 5th birthday party last Saturday! Here's what she was wearing when I first got there. Methinks the girls had been playing a bit of dress-up.

Look at the cake Mommy made for her. She even made her own fondant. Wow, huh?! Courtney helped make some of the little balls decorating it.

Waiting to get the picture-taking underway (Grandma was already busy with her camera):

Cake, some of the food, and some of the cousins:

Did anybody see Carson up there? Let's look behind the cake. There he is!

Add a couple more cousins:

And finally it's time to blow out the candles!

Here are a few of the gift-opening shots.

(Click any photo or collage to enlarge.)

Did you see that huge jar of craft supplies?! She got other craft things, too. I think everybody knows about her creativity and how much she enjoys making things. There were also some things to put on her LeapPad, some Legos, a few clothes and a rainbow necklace. She's all set, for sure!

I wonder what she'll be bringing along with her for me to play with today! She promised to bring some of her new stuff. I can't wait to play! :) Maybe we'll make something to show you.....

Update:  Welllll... I was SO disappointed... Courtney brought NONE of her new things along for me to play with! And she'd PROMISED!! ;(

All she brought was 2 dolls to try the new dress on. Luckily, it works pretty well for Molly.  Sorry, J&J!

So, she is 5. Will Grandma have less time with her this fall due to Kindergarten? I love the care free days of early childhood. Such fun and love.

Yep, Grandma's going to lose her Tuesdays. I'm not sure I'll know how to act! I don't know what the after-school schedule will be, but I do believe her school bus will go right past our place. ;)

Awh, lucky Grandma! We have not seen a bus go past here in years. Wonder if it takes an act of congress to change the route. Love the fun pics you posted. What a bunch of adorable/happy kids and the cake was so yummy.

It probably takes kids in the neighborhood, Grace. ;)

Be sure to ask about "early dismissals" or "teacher institutes" or those "Monday holidays". You will find a way to sneak daytime hours with your little girl! Just not quite the same as every Tuesday.
