Kitten update

I'm sure you've all been wondering how Rainbow and her babies are doing. Or maybe you haven't, but you're about to find out anyway. ;)

Here are Rainbow and her 1-week+1-day-old babies:

The babies are all growing nicely. It's still a bit hard to distinguish them in the photo above, so I recruited the help of my ever-eager-and-ready-if-it-has-to-do-with-kittens assistant for some individual pics! (We tried this last week, but it was a rainy day and so dark that the pics didn't turn out to be blogworthy.)

Here they are! Aren't they beautiful? (Click on the collage to enlarge it.)

As you may have noticed, they're just beginning to get their eyes open. The two orange ones have names - Bert and Betty - so named by "Agent Orange" herself, Jess. She was hoping Rainbow would have some orange babies, so I told her these are both hers. Unfortunately, since Alex is allergic to cats, "Jess's" kittens will have to remain here.

The black-and-white ones are both males, as is one of the oranges, and the rest are females. The white one has the potential of ending up with Annabelle's coloring (which I should get more recent photos of to show you... she's really gotten quite beautiful). We're open to suggestions for names! Anybody have any good ideas?

Here are a couple more shots of the adorableness:

Calico is always my favorite:

Anybody want a kitten in about 6 or 7 weeks?????  :)

Oh yes! I'd love a kitten! Wait. What am I saying?? I really love it when YOU have the kittens and I get to enjoy them vicariously. As for names - are you going for a B theme? Bartow and Braden for the boys and Bonita, Bay and Belle for the girls.

Awwwwwwww!

Well, I wasn't going for any "theme", but I'll give consideration to your names. I must run them by Miss C, of course. And I can't use them all, because there's one extra. ;)

Somehow I suspect any "kitty-takers" will be vicarious, like you, and then I'll still be stuck with all of them. LOL

Wish I could hold one right now!
Thanks for the virtual share!

I love how you took care of mama cat and let her in the garage. Also the reference to "agent orange" and all the names you all come up with. I remember on our farm we had a lot of cats but never named a one. As always great pictures and your assistant is growing up.

YOU DIDN'T NAME YOUR CATS?!?!? The poor things! How did they know who they were? ;)

Thanks, Mark. And yes, my assistant is certainly growing up... too fast... but she does assist better these days. :)

I would take the calico if I lived near you. Sadly I do not.I am partial to the name Lucy as you know.I like Bertie and Barney also.

so I'm dying here from the cuteness. I love how round the kitty heads are. Grrrrr. That collage is devastating. I must show the girls tomorrow. I predict fainting and squealing.

I hope your girls survive it, LiEr! Perhaps you should drive down and get them each a kitten!! ;)
