Updates

I took all of these pictures yesterday. The tulips have been making progress, despite the 40-something degree temperatures all week!

The rhubarb is growing, too:

The stalks are getting big enough that a person could find enough for a pie, surely.

The asparagus is coming, but very slowly. The purple color indicates that it's cold.

Here's my favorite update:

They're growing beautifully. Three males and three females.

PINK - noses, ears, toes...

... SWEET!!!

Nothing sweeter than asparagus tips and pink kitty noses!

Oh I miss rhubarb, it does not grow in the Central Valley. You can get it at some stores but is not crisp like when freshly cut. As always great pictures!

Thanks, Mark. I'd ship you some, but it'd end up as soggy as what you get in the stores.

The asparagus got it right- we humans turn blue with cold, ourselves, don't we? So glad for sun today. Still chilly with a wicked wind, but at least sunshine and blue sky! Enjoy your flowers!

I did enjoy the flowers... and the sunshine, however short-lived it was. The asparagus has barely grown... and is still purple.

The Kittens are so sweet. I am glad that they are safe for now. I remember as a child being so upset with the tom cats on our farm. They always hurt the new born kittens if they could find them.Have you named them? Bonnie

Only 2 are named so far. Since there are 2 orange ones, I told Jess they're hers. ;) So she named them Bert and Betty. :) I'm open to suggestions for the rest!

We don't have rhubarbs in Japan. I've never tasted it. Jess tried to get it for me, but always too late or early. I want to try it someday.

You'll just have to come for a visit in the spring or early summer sometime. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! And best wishes on your upcoming wedding! :)
