Yes, Dale... it's still spring!

Until today, we hadn't seen the sun in over a week. It was foggy all day most of those days. However, the temperature never got below freezing, and it stayed around the mid-upper 30's during the day. So the snow kept up a slow but continual melt.

Today the sun came out, and it actually hit 50°! This was a common sight as I drove into town today... water standing in the fields. But look at all the bare areas!

It's been melting in our yard, too, although it has a long way to go. But at least we can see grass now in some places. Courtney's sliding hill is shrinking, too.

We can even now see her sandbox (at the base of that tree) for the first time in months!

(Click photos to enlarge.)

To celebrate the sunshine and warm temperature, I grilled these for supper. YUM!

Wow, you have a lot of snow left where it drifted in.
Those bare areas prove the power of the sun is back and it is very reassuring to see your tulips peeking out.
When the grill gets used it's a sure sign of spring.
Ooooh, those look good.

I KNOW you are so glad that the melting has begun! And a slow melt is better than a fast one. I hate when it floods from excessive melting and rain.

Love firing up the grill too. Glad you and Grandpa got to enjoy those lovely chunks o' cow!

Well, just so let you know that a little south and more west, we enjoyed a walk to the library in spring coats at 60 degrees without a sighting of snow and spring bulbs popping their little greens to greet us along our way!

Becky L.

Hi, Becky L, and welcome to my blog! I understand we're "connected" via a certain gorgeous quilt, as well as some beautiful people. :) Glad you stopped by.

I walked out to the mailbox at 57° today... but with still the sightings of snow, unfortunately. I do love the 57°, though, even if there is the 's' word in our forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Ahhh... spring. I saw my first robin today, too!

(And I won't tell on you, but IL is 'east' of here. My daughter lives there, too. ;) )

Umm, oops on the slip of the direction! I guess I was thinking of our connection out west when writing.

We are enjoying another 60 degree day. Tomorrow is to be 30 with snow!

But it will melt fast :)

Glad to find you and "meet" you as well. If you feel like visiting, check out www.luedtkeland.blogspot.com

Bummer about the cherries, Mark. :(

27° and blustery here today, with a couple of snowflakes. Yep, I miss that sun already! Somehow, 2 days out of 9+ just isn't enough! But, spring officially starts tomorrow - hurray!!
