Courtney is FOUR!

Yep, it's her BIRTHDAY today! And better yet, she's HERE! I woke up at 5:30 this morning and heard the wind howling. I knew it would be blowing our brand new 8-10" of powdery snow around like crazy, and I thought "Uh oh. No little birthday girl for Grandma today." That made me sad.

BUT! Daddy called around 8:30 and asked if I wanted her. Well, duh! :) I quick scooped a path to the door through the 2-3 foot drift (thank goodness it was light stuff) in front of the garage so they could get in, and he managed to get her here, despite a lot of blowing snow and zero temperature. Thanks, Daddy!!

Here's a quick birthday girl snapshot:

There'll be more pics later. Wish I'd had the camera ready when she came in the door all bundled up! Eskimo-ish for sure, and nice and warm.

Well, I must go play. We have a big project she's anxious to get at!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Miss Courtney! Grandma and Grandpa love you tons!! We'll also see you at your party on Saturday (weather permitting, of course).

Happy birthday, Courtney! Some day we'll meet in person.

I hope the Mommy didn't get stuck in a blizzard away from the birthday girl. I get the impression that it's going to be real bad down in southern MN. That much snow with high wind is bound to yield trouble.
I'll get the ugly story from the Grandpa. I'm expecting some really big drift pictures.

Mommy's working from home. Yeah, it's nasty... it's windier now than when Courtney came. 'Bout the time they were cleaning out our yard is when the wind picked up again.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE SWEETIE PIE. Sorry we could not see you on your 4th B day. We are snowed in really tight. Got stuck coming home from church Sunday morning and have had no snow removal on our roads yet. But the snow kept coming and the wind keeps blowing so no use plowing roads. We are safe and warm just like you are with G-pa and G-ma G. See you at your party. Hugs and Kisses from G-pa and G-m H.

Happy Happy birthday little girl!

We had a blizzard yesterday into today totaling 23 inches of snowfall. Oh did the wind howl last night! We are shoveled out and are now expecting significant cold for this area. My son and I have a snowday today along with the rest of Chicagoland. He has a snowday already declared for tomorrow. I don't think they'll be able to dig out the buses by tomorrow or they think it'll be too cold. We shall see. The little guy and Daddy are sledding right now.
