Hibiscus

Here y'are, Becky! Such a lovely color, huh?

There were two blooms. Here's the other one:

Looks a little weird, doesn't it? I don't know what caused it to be so mottled.

I'm wondering what any future ones will look like.

The other plant (red) should be blooming soon, too... it has a few buds coming.

Well.... as for my discombobulation from yesterday morning... the news is not good. Our water never cleared up completely. In fact, it got lots worse at times... like pure mud flowing from the faucet. Worse yet, last night it quit altogether. The well guy came out about 9:30 and determined that there's no more water in the well. It looks at this point like we'll have to dig a new well. Life could be interesting for awhile. Yuck.

Looking above, the blooms are stunning! So gorgeous. Thinking below, the water sounds dreadful! So sorry for your continued discombobulation. However does a well have no more water? Drinking Lake Michigan water, I don't know too much about wells.

Good luck to you in the areas of dishes, laundry, cleaning, bathing, washing, drinking, and in more water ways than we realize.

Harvest time or approaching harvest time is not good timing at all for this to happen!

Very quirky well failure.
Wouldn't it be interesting to know just what happened down there to cause clay to suddenly flow in.

I'm sure they are hauling water today and for the next couple days if not longer.

Did you get any indication of when they can start the new well?

Dale

Thanks, Becky! Timing could be a lot worse. It should be all said and done by the time harvest rolls around, except for another cutting of hay next week.

Yeah, Dale... they're hauling water, so we do have it now. But the water lines will take awhile to get cleaned out. Glad I don't have any immediate laundry needs.

They may start digging on Sat., but they have other must-do projects lined up for some of next week, so it could be a drawn-out affair. :(

Do you guys get the word verification box when you comment? I don't, but I should.

Yeah,
I get the verification box.

At least today we don't have to deal with the dinheeat.

Oh, what a nightmare! We really take for granted that clean, fresh water will be there when we turn on the faucet. Hope it clears up soon.

So sorry bout' the H2O situation. You are always welcome to bring a few loads over and wash them here. Would be a good excuse to get together for a visit. Here is where Rural Water would come in handy. We have rural water piped as far as the basement corner but have not as yet needed to connect our lines to it. Sure hope that day does not come. Since we have no livestock on the place our well should be good enough for our needs.

I do get word verification on your blog. When I comment on my own blog, I do not get my word verification. I think that is because I already signed into my blog and I am the author.

I have bright pink peonies next to white peonies. One year I had mottled pink peonies. Very interesting how that happened. Each year after all peonies have been the true colors. Interesting to see what will happen next year. Another reason to keep posting about hibiscus!

Thanks, everyone!

I used to get the verification box myself, Becky, until I turned it off awhile back. But now I don't. I guess Blogger got smart and realized I probably wouldn't spam my own post!
