Knee high

Here's our little corn tester, checking to see whether the corn is knee high yet or not. Poor little girl... Grandma made her go out in the 98° heat just for this photo! But we made a quick trip of it. We survived.

The verdict is in... it's knee high by the 4th of July! Ha... and then some! It's also beginning to tassel already. And it really needs rain... not to mention a little less heat. But I guess we take what we get.

I hope you all have a nice Independence Day holiday today. Stay cool!

We are now cool! The AC is cranking away for the first time since about noon-time on Sunday. Yep, 60 hours without power. It's been a challenge but we've been ok! Now, to catch up on laundry and completely fill my fridge and freezer.

Is that corn for feeding animals or people? Looks like a whole lotta corn.

Wow, Becky... I'm sorry to hear you were without power! That had to be miserable! I'm glad it's back!!

The corn is for animals, Annie Dee. It will get sold... providing it rains and we actually get a crop.

Praying for a steady all day rain! Bring it on, but not storm quality. We need it so very badly. And you need a crop.

Praying with you, Becky!

I've got my fingers crossed and I'm doing a little dance for rain for you and the corn!

We got 3 drops this morning, Annie Dee. Better dance a little harder! ;)
