Subtitle: How I spent my Mother's Day (because one of my kids lives in Chicago and the other one spent the day in the fields helping get that corn crop into the ground).
Oh, how I loved this last sewing project! It was delightfully fun! Here's a poor (because I was too lazy in too much of a hurry to set up my lights), hastily-taken photo of the pieces I started out with:

Yes, teeny-tiny shoes - American Girl doll size! My lovely Kit is below modeling them for you. Forgive her non-coordinating outfit. It's all she has at the moment. (Note to self: hurry up and make her some new clothes for modeling photo shoots!)
They're a bit bigger than the sandals she came with. There's a lot of toe room (that's recommended for kids' shoes, anyway, right?), but they fit snugly enough, and in fact the pull loop on the back is useful. The elastic inside is functional, too, and it helps when putting them on.
I so love them! I plan to make more pairs and already have fabrics picked out. :) They're pretty quick to make. I cut them out Saturday and put them together on Sunday. There's not much sewing, but considerable glueing (a little spray adhesive and a lot of hot glue).
The pattern I used is another of those I-couldn't-resist ones from Liberty Jane Patterns. The pink print canvas is Jess's "Fireworks", and the cute prints on the inside and on the tabs were from a bundle of scraps I bought in an Etsy shop. They're called "Just Stay Little" and "Wallpaper Flowers" from Sarah Jane's Children at Play.
They are, of course, for Courtney's doll. I can't wait for her to see them this afternoon!

These are so cute! Love them. What did you use for the light blue edging that connects the sole to the shoe? Craft foam?

Okay, I'm here! And let me say that the first thing I noticed (now that I've gotten over the sole) is how you aligned that starburst/firework motif right over the upper front portion of the shoes. Perfect! Man, they're cute! Eeeee!

I also noticed the centered firework, so incredibly adorable. Great sewing, as always.
Here is what you could do:
1. Trace the sole. Then photocopy and enlarge it to match the sole of Courtney's shoe.
2. Trace other pieces and enlarge to same percentage as sole.
3. Make matching slippers for Courtney. Can't use the foam though, so need to figure out the edge. Perhaps some stiff interfacing? The nubby slipper bottom material would be good for the bottoms.
4. Or find an existing slipper pattern if it would be easier. Matching jammies and slippers would be cute.
