It's been SOOO hot lately

Okay... your turn: "How hot has it been?"

It's been sooo hot that this robin just sat in the birdbath with its mouth hanging open for about 5 minutes the other day.

Then it took a dive:

Ahhhh... that felt good!

More!!

Then it was joined by another hot bird:

Let's see who can splash the most!

Okay, let's see who can do the best dive!

I think we have our winner below:

They had great fun splashing and kept at it for a long time. The next day there were even three robins in at a time!

It's been sooo HOT and sooo HUMID, one would think we lived in southern Florida, Annie Dee! Sure glad I don't, though... certainly not my kind of weather, and hopefully it will end soon.

This series made me smile! Going to be 103 degrees here today. (That doesn't make me smile.)

Some happy birds you got there! Too cute!! Only going to hit the upper 80's here with humidity in the 50-60% range. Practically cool in comparison!!

I can't wait to sing my "end of summer song" It goes like this:

Ding Dong the witch is dead
Which old witch?
The wicked summer witch.

Very enjoyable bird pics. We looked just like that ourselves yesterday at the pool. And we are going again today! Our pool has been open from 4-8 after school and this weekend is the last. After Labor Day the pool door is closed for a very, very long time. Living one block away, we go quite often - feeling like your pictured birds!

Here's to the heat calming down just a bit!

Oh, Becky... I suddenly have this awesome image of you in my mind..... ! ;)

Can't be too much longer, Dale! It just can't!!! Then we can complain about winter again.

Yep, you're cooler than here, Annie. Craziness!!

Gwen... time to move back to MN!! Well, maybe in a week or two.

This is such an awesome series of pictures! So 100 today, but humid (for us) and poor air quality because we are getting smoke in the air from the Rim fire in yosemite

Thanks, Cindy! The thought of your kind of air doesn't thrill me, either. ;(

Our good news is that tomorrow's supposed to top out in the mid-70's here... hurray! Now just so they can finish baling the hay before the cool front thunderstorms roll through tonight.
