I promised in this post that I'd show you the clothes I made for the doll. At the time, I'd only made one little dress, and it was from a free tutorial you can find today on LiEr's blog. It was very simple to make, involving only one pattern piece and some bias tape (which you could purchase or make yourself... I happened to have a purchased color that went well enough). Here's how it turned out:
Quick and easy. So much so, in fact, that when Courtney was here again last Friday and I didn't have a craft project lined up for her, I offered to make another dress for her doll (which I had given her for Halloween). When we went to pick out a fabric for it, she asked if I could make it jammies instead, out of something soft. I have plenty of flannel, so she chose a piece that was left over from her nap mat set. So now her doll has a nice sleeveless flannel nightgown. :)
It took me about a half hour to make, including getting Courtney set up on Grandpa's laptop (because I needed the iPad for my tutorial) to have something to do while I sewed. Get the tutorial here to make a dress (or nightgown) for the doll you made from this tutorial!
The doll and the clothes I've made so far have been from free tutorials. LiEr is working on a pattern to make more super-cute doll items, and this pattern will be available for purchase. I'll be making test items as soon as she has the pattern ready, and hopefully everything will be done in time to make Christmas gifts, should you happen to have little ones in your life who would love them!

Adorable! I see the plaid fabric now. But I don't have any of those polybead stuffing things. And they are not for sale at any craft or fabric store near me. Or online. So I couldn't make the doll. Or the clothes. Oh no.... Christmas is coming. There may be 2 of everything in my future...
Thank you! I can't get the polybeads here, either. LiEr sent them to me. Maybe she can tell you where to find some. Ahh... 2 of everything... fun! Fun? ;)
Follow up: a bag of small beans came home from the grocery store with me today. I see one of these dolls (at least) in my future...
Promise you'll send me a photo after the doll's been washed and the bean shoots are growing through the fabric!! ;)
