It's WINDY!

How WINDY is it? Watch this video and see. However, if you're prone to motion sickness, I wouldn't advise it.

Ya gotta be hungry to eat while swinging like that!
Below are some calmer shots. The upper left one was actually taken during a brief (like 2-second) respite from the wind this morning, but the rest were taken yesterday, when it was also windy, but not gale-force like today.
I like the bottom left pic, where the bird has a mouthful of seeds.
The males aren't into their full yellow plumage yet, so they're looking kinda scruffy.
I was going to mow today, but I don't know if that's gonna happen. It was bad enough last week when it was in the mid-60's and "only" 40 mph winds. Today it's only going to get into the 50's, and the WIND has already gusted to 47 mph. It's gotta calm down at least a little, or I won't be out there. But there's a chance of rain the next couple days. Hmmm.... now where did I put my snowsuit? Not because it's supposed to snow (I HOPE!), but just because it's gonna be such a cold ride. You should've seen all the layers I had on last week! Brrrr!

(This is not the way I formatted this post, with everything run together. And it won't let me change it. Blogger's being stubborn today.)

Thank you for the advice about my allergies. I will try this out. Your grand children are adorable. I'm afraid I'm not a very good photographer. Perhaps I'll learn from you.

Hi, Julia... glad you stopped by! Good luck with the allergies. My "grandchildren" are only one... all the pics are of the same little girl. :)

JHRME... Would I kid you??? ;)

How windy is it? Sooo windy, that when my 2 year old held a kite tight, took one step, then proudly let it go . . . .

My husband and I could not catch it!!!!

Two very sad and disappointed children.

A disappointed Mommy, as our brand new kite flew in its glory for 5 minutes total before freedom.

A new kite, exactly the same, has been ordered and is on its way!

Oh... bummer! Bet there were tears. But glad there's a new kite on the way!

What a wicked wind that was... but just a peaceful, gentle breeze this morning... whew!
